Michael Battalio is a graduate student
of Meteorology at
Mississippi State University working with Dr. Jamie
Dyer. Michael completed a
Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Meteorology
(broadcast emphasis) in Spring 2009 and a Bachelor of Science degree in
Physics in Spring 2010, both from MSU. He is the recipient
of an AMS 21st Century Campaign graduate fellowship.
His meteorological
interests and topics of research include non-earth
atmospheres, 3D
visualization techniques of atmospheric modeling,
improvement and development of new ensemble model
products, improvement of model parameterization and
model physics, modeling mesoscale
features contributing to tornadogenesis, and of course,
severe weather. He has a coauthored a paper
with Tim Wallace, P. Grady Dixon (MSU) on the
ability of low level CAPE to predict tornado and hail
days that is pending with
Weather and Forecasting.
